UNR Academic Calendar 2023-2024: Important Dates & Deadlines give prior notice of upcoming events to students and teachers, which assists them in planning their academic activities. Teachers and students perform their tasks timely to avoid fallbacks and failures in their academic lives.

Below is a detailed UNR academic calendar with important dates and deadlines necessary for Spring, Winter and Summer 2023/2024 academic year;

Monday, 1/2/2023 is New Year’s Day; the campus is closed.
Wintermester classes begin on Tuesday, 1/3/2023
Tuesday, 1/3/2023 is the Last day to pay Wintermester tuition without late fees.
The last day to receive a 100% refund for Wintermester and the Final day to enrol in Wintermester classes is Wednesday, 1/4/2023.
Thursday, 1/5/2023 is the Last day to drop Wintermester classes and receive a 50% refund and the Final day to change Wintermester classes from credit to audit
Friday, 1/13/2023 is the Final day to apply for a change of residency for the Spring semester and the deadline for non-degree and Graduate Special applicants.
Monday, 1/16/2023 is Martin Luther King Day. campus closed, no classes.
New graduate student orientation and reception is on Thursday, 1/19/2023.
Wintermester instruction ends on Friday, 1/20/2023.
Spring Semester fees are due; the final day to pay all fees without incurring late payment fees on Friday, 1/20/2023.
Friday, 1/20/2023, is the due date for the First payment for those students on the payment plan, the Final day for initial registration, the Application deadline for returning student applications and the Application deadline for Graduate Special students.
Late fees were assessed on Saturday, 1/21/2023.
Residence halls open at 8 a.m.on Sunday, 1/22/2023.
A New Student Orientation date will be communicated.
Final grades are due for Wintermester classes by 5 p.m. in MyNEVADA on Monday, 1/23/2023.
Monday, 1/23/2023is the First day of classes
Friday, 1/27/2023 is the Final day to add or swap classes without permission from the instructor.
Wednesday, 2/1/2023 is the Final day to receive a 100% refund if dropping individual classes, the Final day to change from a letter grade to S/U or S/U to letter grade or audit, and the Final day to add or swap classes with permission from the instructor.
No refunds after Wednesday, 2/1/2023 unless completely withdraw from the University.
A 50% refund for complete withdrawal begins on Wednesday, 2/1/2023.
The second fee payment is due for those on the payment plan on Monday, 2/20/2023
Monday, 2/20/2023 is President’s Day. the campus is closed and no classes.
Wednesday, 3/1/2023 is the deadline to apply for May graduation.
Friday, 3/3/2023 is the Final day to receive a 50% refund if completely withdrawn from the University.
Spring Break begins on Saturday, 3/18/2023 – Sunday, 3/26/2023.campus open yet no classes.
Final fee payment due for those on payment plan on Monday, 3/20/2023
Summer Session registration starts on Monday, 3/20/2023.
Fall 2023 semester enrollment begins on Monday, 4/3/2023.
Tuesday, 4/4/2023 is the Final day to drop classes and receive a “W” and the Final day to change from credit to audit.No dropping of individual classes after this deadline.
Wintermester and Spring 2023 academic calendar prep day is on Wednesday, 5/10/2023.
Finals week begins on Thursday, 5/11/2023.
Friday, 5/12/2023 is the Final day for submitting the thesis/dissertation and notice of completion with Graduate School for May graduation.
Wintermester and Spring 2023 Instruction Ends on Wednesday, 5/17/2023
On-campus residence hall move-out is on Wednesday, 5/17/2023 by 10 p.m.
Wintermester and Spring 2023 is Commencement is on Thursday, 5/18/2023 – Saturday, 5/20/2023
Faculty is to post final grades in MyNEVADA on Monday, 5/22/2023 by 5 p.m.
Spring semester ends on Monday, 5/22/2023.
The last day faculty on campus for the Spring semester is Monday, 5/22/2023.

Important Dates and Deadlines for UNR Summer 2023 academic calendar 2023/ 2024;

Friday, 5/19/2023 is the Final day to pay all Mini and Regular session fees/tuition before late registration fees are assessed.
The first Summer payment is due on Friday, 5/19/2023 for students on a payment plan.
Mini and Regular Session classes begin on Monday, 5/22/2023
Tuesday, 5/23/2023, is the Final day to add Mini Session classes and the Final day to receive a 100% refund for Mini Session.
Tuesday, 5/23/2023, is the Final day to change a Mini Session class from letter grade to S/U or S/U to letter grade or audit to credit.
Wednesday, 5/24/2023 is the Final day to drop Mini Session classes and receive a 50% refund.
Monday, 5/29/2023 is Memorial Day; no classes
Thursday, 6/1/2023 is the Final day to receive a 100% refund for Regular Session classes, the Final day to withdraw from a Mini Session class and receive a “W”, the Final day to drop Regular Session classes and receive a 50% refund, the Final day to change a Mini Session class from credit to audit and the Deadline for August graduation applications.
Summer Mini Session Instruction ends on Friday, 6/9/2023
Friday, 6/9/2023 is the Final day to pay all First Session tuition and fees before late registration fees are assessed.
Summer Mini Session grades due | Monday, 6/12/2023.
First Session classes begin on Monday, 6/12/2023
Wednesday, 6/14/2023 is the Final day to receive a 100% refund for First Session classes, the Final day to add First Session classes and the Final day to change a First Session class from letter grade to S/U or S/U to letter grade or audit to credit.
Friday, 6/16/2023 is the Final day to drop First Session classes and receive a 50% refund.

Thursday, 7/13/2023, is the Final day to withdraw from a Regular Session class and receive a “W” and the Final day to pay all Second Session tuition and fees before late registration fees are assessed.
First Session grades are due on Monday, 7/17/2023
Second Session classes begin on Monday, 7/17/2023
Wednesday, 7/13/2023 is the Final day to receive a 100% refund for Second Session classes and the Final day to add Second Session classes.
