Best Leia’d Plans is the sixth story mission in LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga's Episode IV: A New Hope. This Best Leia’d Plans walkthrough covers how to complete each of its three Level Challenges, collect all five Minikits (with the use of Free Play), and earn True Jedi Rank to 100% the story mission.

Best Leia’d Plans Story Walkthrough

Opening Sequence

Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Ben Kenobi, R2-D2, C-3PO, and Chewbacca have found the control room of the Death Star; however, instead of dealing with the tractor beam, they realize that Princess Leia is a prisoner onboard and they need to save her. The group will split up in their search for her, leaving your party with Han Solo (Stormtrooper), Luke Skywalker (Stormtrooper), and Chewbacca.

It is important to note that enemies throughout this mission will not attack your party on sight, as you are disguised as stormtroopers with Chewie as your prisoner. During this Story Walkthrough, we will not be focusing on earning the True Jedi Rank as breaking the scenery/environment and fighting enemies will get you detected, negating Challenge #1. True Jedi Rank will be covered in the Free Play Walkthrough section of this page.

Challenge #1: Your Weapon, You Will Not Need it

From the start of the mission, continue forward and take your first left following the path to a ladder. The ladder will break as you try to climb it. There are two ways to progress forward from here:

Using either Han or Luke, throw grenades at the two walls to the left and behind where the ladder was. Both walls will drop LEGO pieces to build with. This will allow you to access two pushable boxes. One is smaller than the other, so push them below the ladder entrance in the ceiling in such a way that you can jump up both like a staircase. Inside the short vent, use another grenade to break open the exit to the vent and drop down on the other side of the barrier. Then, use the Villain console to turn off the barrier allowing the rest of your party through.

Otherwise, make sure there are no enemies around. Switch to Chewbacca and interact with the purple prompt on the other side of the laser barrier. Chewie will shoot the console, breaking the barrier and allowing you to progress. This option is more risky as Chewbacca doing anything near an enemy stormtrooper will get you detected.

This area is a circular hallway, follow the path either left or right until you get to a room on the opposite side of the circle. The Imperial officer in here will take his break, leaving you alone in this room. Smash up the three armor sets and all the lockers and other structures on the left side of this room. This will allow you to build a pushable Darth Vader mannequin.

Push the mannequin in front of the camera to broadcast a message. The phony Darth Vader will end the high alert state of the station and reactivate the turbolift you need to use to access the detention center. After the message is delivered, your party will start at the turbolift. Get on and press the button to head up to the detention center.

To earn Your Weapon, You Will Not Need it, you need to get through the first floor without being detected. If you did everything mentioned above without fighting a single enemy or setting off the alarm system, this should unlock as you ride the turbolift up to the detention center.

Minikit 1/5

The turbolift will open to the detention center; however, the back of the turbolift also opens to a secret room that is easy to miss. So, turn around and head out the back of the turbolift. Turn left and through the door in front of you to find your first Minikit.

Challenge #2: Slight Weapons Malfunction

To earn Slight Weapons Malfunction,you need to clear out the detention block guards like a true scoundrel. Return back to the turbolift and enter the detention center. A group of Imperial Guards will stand in your way working on consoles. Switch to Chewbacca and interact with the purple prompt just above all the guards. Chewie will shoot a panel, causing the speaker systems above the guards to fall, clearing them all out in no time!

Challenge #3: Boring Conversation Anyway

To earn Boring Conversation Anyway, you need to break the console panel to cut off the Empire Captain. With the guards handle, walk to where they were standing and there will be multiple consoles in front of you. Smash them all until the challenge is completed.

Save The Princess

Continuing inside this room, you should notice a panel that is blocked. Use a grenade to clear out the blockage and access the detention cell cameras. Keep pressing the button on the panel until you find Princess Leia.

She has drawn three symbols in her cell and will be pointing to one of them. Across from the camera console is another console with a set of three symbols on it. Press the buttons on this console to match the symbols Leia has drawn, allowing you to save her.

Dianoga Boss Fight

After a short cutscene of everyone escaping into the trash compactor, the Dianoga will pop up from the murky water ready to fight. The Dianoga’s eye will pop up out of the water periodically. Shoot or punch it to deal damage. Additionally, tentacles will pop up to attack you. If you are quick, you can shoot or punch them to get rid of them, or avoid them by moving away before they swipe at you. If a character gets too close to a tentacle they will be grabbed. Switch to another character and shoot the tentacle to free the trapped one. Defeating the Dianoga marks the end of this story mission.

Best Leia’d Plans Free Play Walkthrough

In order to obtain the following Minikits in Free Play, you will need to have access to the following character types.

True Jedi Rank

To earn True Jedi Rank, you need to collect 60,000 studs. With Challenge #1: Your Weapon, You Will Not Need it out of the way, you are free to destroy environment/scenery pieces and defeat enemies through the mission. If you are diligent, you should earn this as you progress through Free Play to unlock the rest of the Minikits below.

Minikit 2/5

After making it past the first barrier of the level, walk out to the balcony. Look up and to the left to find a grapple point. Grapple up to this next circular level. Defeat the stormtroopers here to gain access to the turbolift. Accessing the turbolift from this area, causes it to stop on a new floor you can’t visit during the story mission.

Continue along this linear corridor and climb up the ladder at the end of it. Again you will be in a circular area. You will see a stormtrooper stealing a power unit, we will deal with them shortly. For now, step out onto the balcony with the breakable cover. The Minikit is directly below you. Carefully fall off the edge of this balcony along the wall and use your double jump to reach the second Minikit.

Minikit 3/5

Return to the balcony you just fell from. Using a Scoundrel character, you should notice a purple prompt to the right with some enemies underneath it. Interact with the prompt to cause an explosion defeating the enemies and breaking the door open. Head to the newly opened door and interact with the switch here to tighten the rope going across the gap.

Switch to a Jedi/Dark Side character to walk across the rope and grab the keycard on the other side. With this keycard, we can return to the circular hallway and enter the door the stormtrooper who took the power unit is in. Deal with the stormtrooper and take the power unit. Plug it into the door the stormtrooper stole it from and find your third Minikit hiding inside.

Minikit 4/5

From Minikit 3/5, return to the ladder you used to enter this area. Behind it is a pullable wall. Use a character like a Hero or Astromech to pull down the wall. To the left of the entrance to this secret room are some boxes. Break them to reveal pieces you can use to build the fourth Minikit.

Minikit 5/5

This Minikit requires that you find and defeat 3 mouse droid Supercounters (black and white striped rolling droids) hidden throughout the mission. Their locations are listed in chronological order from the start of the mission:

Supercounter 1/3

After making it past the first barrier of the level, walk out to the balcony. Look up and to the left to find a grapple point. Grapple up to this next circular level. Your first supercounter will be rolling around up here, destroy it.

Supercounter 2/3

After the stormtrooper steals the power unit (See Minikit 2/5), this supercounter can be found rolling around on this circular level. Find it and destroy it.

Supercounter 3/3

Inside the secret room that houses Minikit 4/5, this supercounter can be found rolling around the circular table. Find it and destroy it to earn your final Minikit.
